Deer Hunting "08"

Another happy deer hunter at The Timbers. This buck taken on 11.18.08.

Opening Day started out cold with a trace of snow on the ground. By the end of the day Jack Zuidema bagged this nice buck.  Jack was hunting National Forest Land around the Bergland area.      

The grouse hunters for the most part have done well this year. With the world class grouse hunting  here in the U.P., everyone agrees that lightening reflexes have made the difference as the birds have an uncanny ability to reach light speeds when flushed. The dogs come back exhausted and the hunters happy with each successive day.

 Seems most everyone who comes here knows the others staying here. Anyone new to the Timbers becomes a part of the group quickly, sharing good locations to hunt, teaming up with those new and old to the area to make their stay an enjoyable and successful one.

The fellas in the picture above have been bringing the birds in. Haven't had a day go by that they aren't filling the freezers with fresh game.

No playing around with this group. They spend their days in the field claiming their share of the world class hunting experience here in the Upper Peninsula. Year after year they return for more.
